Scott State Park is a real gem. There is a beautiful, 100 acre fishing lake surrounded by remarkable cliffs within the 1,020 acre park. Lots of campground space for both primitive and utility camping. The Campground Host was very helpful explaining the self pay system and advised us to pay one night at a time as there was no refund available.These ancient earthworks are the remains of the late-Woodland thru early-Mississippian Period ceremonial and governmental complex which was inhabited here from A.D. 650 to 1050. Lake Winfield Scott Recreation Area's campground consists of 31 campsites configured in two loops for tent or RV camping. This state park has what California state leadership has totally dropped the ball on - campgrounds that can accommodate our 35’ fifth wheel & the amenities what should be provided based on the fees they assess. This is a very nice facility that Kansas should be proud of. Visited August 2022. Traveled as a couple.
